From2011 to2014MarcFornes/THEVERYMANY has shared his Labrys Frisae Pavilion at Art Basel Miami, this structure built of aluminum, less than a millimeter thick, seeking to dilute the difference between the edge and space through a “immersive experience, multisensory”.
The inside of the pavilion allows the viewer to understand the space, which changes along the structure, at night this change takes more lives due to the shadows that emerge from the holes in the structure.
Labrys Frisae Pavilion is part of the collection morphology striped (striped morphologies), the design consisted of a process of trial and error, with their respective conclusions and reboots. The projects were described as stripes, nested on flat sheets of material and cutting, attached to each other with rivets, while finding their own curvature join their neighbors. Obviously this leads to the pavilion requires a careful assembly process and practical.
Another feature of the installation is that the structure is self-supporting even when wrapped around a central column which does not provide integrity to the structure of the element. The dimensions of this pavilion are 8,80mx9,06mx5,30m (28′- 10″x29′- 9″x17′-5 “), it owns 202,290 bore holes; 101.145 rivets, 10,322 parts, its weight is 44kg/1642lbs and consists of 256 sheets of aluminum, 74 nodes, 6 missing parts were cut again.
If you want to know this Pavilion, D-Essentials Inc. invites you place it in The Rotunda Space, 3252 NE 1stAvenue, Suite 101- Miami, FL33137, 2011-2014.
